Master Cleanse: Does It Work?
The master cleanse diet (a.k.a. lemonade diet and the maple syrup diet) is very popular nowadays. Its fame could be due to how the media has been portraying it as the diet for the stars.
The basic time frame for the diet is 10 days and during this period a dieter may lose as much as 20 pounds.
But the originator of the master cleanse diet hoped for it to be a cleansing diet because of how it is reportedly good a cleansing the body of unwanted toxins. However, this has also made people lose weight in the process. For this reason, the master cleanse has also earned its distinction of being a reducing diet.
The premise behind the master cleanse diet is quite simple: a dieter will have to go on for 10 days subsisting only on lemonade.
Made with lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper, the lemonade has all the nutritional requirements that you normally take in during a normal day so that you will not be deprived of all the calories you need and you won’t feel hungry at all.
However, if you do feel hungry, there is a simple remedy to that problem. All that you need to do is to drink your lemonade until the hunger goes away. The lemonade is a natural appetite suppressant so you will effectively chase hunger away with just a few sips.
So that you are always energized, you can bring your lemonade with you wherever you go.
The first days of the diet may leave you feeling a bit sick, faint and weak.
This is normal though and you shouldn’t take it as a bad sign if this happens. You will feel such symptoms because the cleanse is already taking place and the toxins are now all in your blood stream. Go on with your diet and you will begin experiencing the wonderful effects during the third day or so.
If you follow the diet meticulously you will be able to lose an average of 2 pounds for each day. For optimum results, you may use less maple syrup especially if you are overweight.
